Dandelion Blessings

There is an age-old tradition stating that if you make a wish and blow a dandelion, it might just come true.

Driving home today in horrid Johannesburg traffic, I was not in the friendliest of moods (to say the least). Tired, stressed...exhausted. As I stopped at the traffic light, I noticed the usual beggar. He was not standing on his usual spot though. He held a dandelion in his hand and took great delight in blowing it into the wind. As the dandelion's seeds were carried by the wind, shear delight brightened this man's face. Here I was thinking about "poor little me" whilst this man (who probably calls the streets his home) found enjoyment and peace in something as trivial as blowing dandelion seeds.

With my next dandelion wish (or maybe just my next prayer), I will be sure to ask God to bless this man abundantly as he taught me an important lesson today: happiness can be found all around you, all you have to do is ask God to open the eyes of your heart.

I Saw a Child

I saw a child who could not walk,
Sit on a horse, laugh and talk.
Then ride it through a field of daisies
And yet he could not walk unaided.

I saw a child, no legs below,
Sit on a horse, and make it go
Through woods of green
And places he had never been
To sit and stare,
Except from a chair.

I saw a child who could only crawl
Mount a horse and sit up tall
Put it through degrees of paces
And laugh at the wonder in our faces.

I saw a child born into strife,
Take up and hold the reins of life
And that same child was heard to say,
Thank God for showing me the way.

Equine Angels giving disabled children wings to fly!

Absolutely humbled by our Heavenly Daddy's grace. Yesterday saw the first equine therapy session with disabled little angels. About 2 years ago we rescued two beautiful little ponies and they were put through rehabilitation therapy. Nemo (one of these ponies) had the opportunity to give back today by being one of the ponies used during the hippotherapy session with children suffering from Muscular Dystrophy. The effects of the therapy was so evident. We witnessed four children who can barely move, ride a horse and LOVING EVERY SECOND OF IT! This was the first feeling of "walking" these kids have ever had. What a blessing! The interaction between horse and child blew my mind! I am literally in tears as I am writing this post. God used his creation to give these little angels a taste of freedom.
